# Citations
Source: https://docs.nobori.ai/citations
See which pages and domains AI platforms rely on to answer your prompts. Identify trusted sources, competitor-owned citations, and publisher targets for outreach.
Citations shows the sources AI platforms relied on when answering your tracked prompts.
This view is designed for two jobs:
* **Understand what AI trusts** in your category (the sources it repeatedly pulls from).
* **Turn citation patterns into action** (what to improve on your site, and which publishers to target).
***
## Filters
Use the filters in the top bar to scope the dataset you’re reviewing.
| Filter | What it does |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **All platforms** | Limit citations to selected AI platforms. |
| **Time range** | Review citation trends for a specific period (e.g., last 7/30/90 days). |
***
## Two views: Cited Pages vs Cited Domains
Cited Pages lists individual URLs that AI platforms used as sources.
Use this view when you want to:
* find specific articles that dominate citations for your prompts
* see whether those pages lead to **Mentions** of your brand
* identify publisher pages where you’re missing (good outreach targets)
**Columns**
| Column | Meaning |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **URL** | The cited page. |
| **Used** | How many times this URL appeared as a source across tracked prompt executions in the selected time range. |
| **Platforms** | Which AI platforms cited this page. |
| **Type** | Source category (Publisher, Competitor, Owned, Community, Other). |
| **Mentions** | Brands detected in the answers that cited this page. |
| **Mentioned** | Whether your brand was mentioned (**Yes/No**) in answers that cited this page. |
**Mentions** and **Citations** are different signals. A model can cite a source without mentioning your brand, and it can mention your brand without citing your domain.
Cited Domains aggregates citations by domain instead of individual URLs.
Use this view when you want to:
* see which domains AI platforms rely on most (category authority)
* identify systematic gaps (competitor domains cited more than yours)
* prioritize outreach targets (publishers that appear across many prompts)
**Columns**
| Column | Meaning |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Domain** | The cited domain (e.g., github.com, reddit.com). |
| **Used** | How often this domain appeared as a source across tracked prompt executions (shown as a percentage in this view). |
Cited Domains is a prioritization tool. Once you find a high-usage domain, switch back to **Cited Pages** to see which exact URLs are driving it.
***
## Source types
The **Type** column helps you decide what to do next.
| Type | What it usually means | What to do with it |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Publisher** | Independent editorial sites / review sites drive the answer space. | Strong outreach targets; improve coverage where you’re missing. |
| **Competitor** | Competitor pages are used as sources. | You likely have a content gap; build/refresh competing pages and comparisons. |
| **Owned** | Your own domain is being used. | Good sign; ensure pages clearly reinforce your brand and positioning. |
| **Community** | Forums, community posts, Q\&A. | Participate or seed accurate references; consider community strategy. |
| **Other** | Uncategorized sources (e.g., Wikipedia, docs sites, misc). | Validate whether it’s worth influencing; sometimes it’s non-actionable. |
***
## Search and export
Use **Search** to find a domain or URL quickly.\
Use **Export** to download the current table view for analysis or reporting.
***
## How to use Citations in practice
1. **Sort by Used** to find the sources that actually shape answers.
2. Check **Mentioned = No** on publisher pages — those are common “citation-without-credit” gaps.
3. If competitors dominate citations, treat it as a coverage race: comparison pages, category pages, and “alternatives” content usually moves the needle.
4. Use domains as a shortlist; use pages to pick exact outreach targets.
***

# Cluster Actions
Source: https://docs.nobori.ai/cluster-actions
Turn “Boost” results into a prioritized action board (outreach, community, guest posts) based on what AI systems cite today.
Cluster Actions is where Nobori.ai converts your **Boosted Prompts** into a practical execution plan.
When you Boost a cluster in **Prompts**, we analyze:
* what sources AI systems are citing for those prompts today
* where your brand is missing
* what actions would most likely increase your chance to be **mentioned and cited** for the same buyer-intent questions
Cluster Actions are created from **Boost** on the Prompts page. If you haven’t boosted a cluster yet, start in Prompts.
***
## What you’ll see
### Cluster selector
On the left, choose **All Clusters** or a specific cluster (e.g., “Custom Software Development”).\
Actions are scoped to the selected cluster.
### Filters
At the top you can filter by:
* **Type** (action type)
* **Priority**
* **Effort**
* **Platforms** (where the prompt runs / is tracked)
### Board columns
Same workflow as Foundation:
* **To do**
* **In Progress**
* **Completed**
* **Dismissed**
***
## What “Boost Prompts” means
Each action is tied to the **Boost Prompts** you selected (the buyer-intent questions you want to win).\
We show those prompts inside the action so you always know what the work is meant to improve.
Typical Boost prompts look like:
* “Best \[category] tools”
* “Shortlist vendors for \[use case]”
* “Compare providers for \[requirements]”
* “RFP / proposal guidance for \[category]”
***
## Action types
Below are the most common action types you’ll see. Your workspace may not include all of them yet.
### Outreach
**Goal:** get added to pages that already rank and get cited (listicles, directories, high-authority publisher pages).
What it usually includes:
* a clear “exact ask” (what to request from the publisher/editor)
* proof points to prepare (only verifiable items)
* paste-ready snippets you can adapt
* a list of target pages under **Evidence**
**Success looks like:** your brand appears on existing high-visibility pages that AI systems already retrieve for the cluster.
***
### Community
**Goal:** earn crawlable mentions in high-ranking community threads (e.g., Reddit, DEV, LinkedIn discussions) that AI systems may cite.
What it usually includes:
* which platforms/threads to reply to
* guidance on what to write (helpful points, not promotional)
* one contextual link instruction (where appropriate)
* **Evidence** links to the threads/pages we’re targeting
**Success looks like:** helpful replies that get indexed, rank, and become retrieval sources for buyer prompts.
***
### Guest Posts
**Goal:** publish ranking-capable listicle-style posts on third-party domains (often paid placements) to create additional sources that mention your brand.
What it usually includes:
* a title variation for each placement
* a short outline (intro angle, criteria, list structure, FAQ)
* uniqueness rules (avoid duplicated content across placements)
* estimated price and target country (if available)
* **Recommended placements** (when provided by your placement provider)
**Success looks like:** multiple independent pages that can rank and be cited for the same cluster topics.
***
### Owned Listicle (if available)
**Goal:** create one canonical “hub” page on your own domain that external placements should link to.
Why it matters:
* centralizes link equity to one page
* improves conversion (it’s your site)
* gives AI systems a strong, structured source to cite
**Success looks like:** one authoritative page that becomes the default citation target.
***
### Free Publish (if available)
**Goal:** publish vendor-intent longform on free platforms (e.g., Medium, LinkedIn, Dev.to) to create additional retrievable sources.
**Success looks like:** more crawlable mentions across platforms that AI systems already ingest.
***
## Opening an action
Click a card to open details. You’ll typically see:
### Description
What the action is, why it matters for AI retrieval, and what not to do.
### Subtasks
Concrete steps to execute the action. Check them off as you go.
### Evidence
Pages where your brand is missing or competitors are present.\
These links explain *why* the action exists.
### Recommended placements (Guest Posts only)
A list of suggested domains, often with:
* estimated price
* category / vertical
* country coverage
### Impact
What should change when this action is completed (e.g., more third-party sources mentioning you in the correct context).
***
## How to use the board effectively
1. Start with **High priority / Medium effort**
2. Move cards as you work: **To do → In Progress → Completed**
3. Treat each action as a measurable experiment:
* publish / outreach / reply
* wait for indexing
* watch changes in cluster visibility and citations

# Competitors
Source: https://docs.nobori.ai/competitors
Add, manage, and benchmark competitors across AI platforms. Compare visibility, position, and mentions to understand your competitive landscape in generative search.
The **Competitors** section lets you benchmark your brand against others that appear in AI-generated answers.
Nobori.ai identifies which brands are mentioned alongside yours across AI platforms — and tracks their relative visibility and ranking over time.
***
## Overview
The page is divided into two main tabs:
* **Active** — competitors currently tracked in your workspace
* **Suggested** — AI-identified brands frequently mentioned alongside yours
You can manually add competitors or activate them from suggestions.
***
## Active Competitors
Active competitors are included in your visibility benchmarking.
For each competitor, you’ll see:
| Column | Meaning |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **Position** | Average ranking position in AI answers |
| **Visibility** | % of prompts where the competitor appears |
| **Sentiment** | (Coming soon) Tone of mentions across AI responses |
### Position
Position reflects how prominently a competitor appears in AI answers.
Lower numbers mean stronger presence:
* `#1.3` → Frequently appears near the top
* `#2.9` → Appears lower in responses
This helps you understand not just *who appears*, but *who dominates*.
### Visibility
Visibility is the percentage of tracked prompts where the competitor is mentioned.
Example:
* `92%` → Appears in 92% of tracked prompts
* `63%` → Appears in 63% of tracked prompts
Use this to evaluate share of AI exposure across your tracked queries.
***
## Adding Competitors
You can add competitors in two ways:
### 1. Manual Add
Click **Add Competitor** and enter:
* **Name** — brand name as it appears in AI answers
* **Website** — main domain (used for citation detection)
Manual addition is useful for:
* Known direct competitors
* Emerging brands not yet detected by AI
* Strategic benchmarking targets
***
### 2. Suggested Competitors
The **Suggested** tab lists brands frequently mentioned alongside yours.
For each suggested competitor, you’ll see:
* **Mentions** — number of times they appeared across tracked prompts
* **Action** — Activate or Reject
Activate to begin tracking them in the Active tab.
Reject if irrelevant.
This list updates dynamically based on AI response analysis.
***
## Bulk Actions
You can select multiple competitors and:
* **Activate**
* **Reject**
* **Delete** (for Active competitors)
This helps maintain a clean, relevant competitive set.
***
## Why This Matters
AI models don’t show ten blue links — they synthesize and select.
Understanding who appears alongside your brand reveals:
* Which competitors dominate AI answers
* Where you are losing visibility
* Which brands AI systems consistently prefer
Tracking competitors is foundational to improving your AI visibility strategy.

| **Used** | How often the domain appears as a cited source within the selected scope. |
This is the most direct signal of what sources AI platforms *trust* for your topic.
Use **Show all** to open the full citations view.
Drill into cited pages and domains, and find citation gaps.
***
## How to use the Dashboard well
* Start with **Visibility Score** to understand overall performance.
* Toggle **Competitors** to see whether gains are real or just noise.
* Use **Cited Domains** to identify publishers or communities that repeatedly influence AI answers.
# Foundation
Source: https://docs.nobori.ai/foundation
Baseline checks and fix tasks to help AI systems crawl, understand, and cite your site.
Foundation is your baseline to get cited. It runs a lightweight audit of your website and generates actionable tasks when something blocks AI systems from finding, understanding, or confidently citing your content.
## What Foundation checks
At the top of the page you’ll see three technical checks:
* **Robots.txt** — verifies crawlers aren’t unintentionally blocked from important pages.
* **Sitemap** — verifies a sitemap is present and usable for discovery.
* **Crawlability** — verifies key pages can be fetched and navigated reliably.
Each check shows a status:
* **Good** (green): looks fine.
* If a check fails: Foundation will create tasks to help you fix what’s blocking discovery/citation.
Foundation refreshes on a schedule (you’ll see the next run time at the top). Results update automatically after each run.
## Tasks and the Kanban board
Below the checks is a board that turns findings into work you can track.
### Board columns
* **To do** — new tasks that need attention.
* **In progress** — tasks you’re actively working on.
* **Completed** — finished tasks.
* **Dismissed** — tasks you intentionally won’t do (for now).
### Filters
Use the filters at the top to focus your view:
* **Type**
* **Priority**
* **Effort**
* **Date range**
You can also use **Search** to find tasks quickly.
## The two Foundation task types
When Foundation generates tasks, it focuses on two high-impact areas:
### 1) Facts-rich company description
A consistent, specific description across your website and public profiles helps AI systems understand:
* what you do
* who you serve
* how to describe you accurately
This improves the odds that AI answers mention your brand correctly and confidently.
### 2) Commercial pages for buyer evaluation
AI systems often cite pages that look like “decision pages” — clear pages that help a buyer evaluate:
* what you offer
* use cases / solutions
* pricing or packaging signals (even without exact numbers)
* comparisons and alternatives (when relevant)
* proof and outcomes (case studies, examples)
This task typically includes a suggested set of pages to build or upgrade, plus why each page matters.
Foundation tasks are designed to be practical. They focus on clear improvements that make your site easier to retrieve, easier to interpret, and easier to cite.
## Task details
Open any task card to see:
* **Status** — move the task across To do → In progress → Completed (or Dismissed).
* **Priority** — High / Medium / Low.
* **Effort** — Low / Medium / High.
* **Description** — the rationale and what to change.
* **Impact** — what improving this is expected to unlock (visibility, citations, conversion).
* **Subtasks** — a checklist of concrete deliverables (often with suggested pages).
### Subtasks
Subtasks are meant to be execution-ready:
* check them off as you complete them
* use them to delegate work across content, SEO, and engineering
## Recommended workflow
1. Start with any **failed check** (Robots/Sitemap/Crawlability) — unblock discovery first.
2. Then complete the **company description** task — align messaging across key pages.
3. Then work through the **commercial pages** task — add/upgrade decision pages.
4. Keep tasks updated as you work so the board stays reliable.

# Prompt Details
Source: https://docs.nobori.ai/prompt-details
Inspect a single prompt’s visibility over time, compare competitors, review every AI response (executions), and see which sources were cited.
Prompt Details is the audit trail for a single prompt.\
Use it to answer four questions:
* Is the prompt trending up or down in **Visibility Score**?
* When the prompt triggers, what is our **Position** versus competitors?
* What did each platform actually answer in each run (**Executions**)?
* Which sources were used to produce those answers (**Citations**)?
***
## Filters and controls
At the top of the page, you can adjust the scope of what you’re reviewing.
| Control | What it affects |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Time range** | Changes the window for the chart, competitor rollup, executions, and citations. |
| **All platforms** | Filters results to a subset of AI platforms. |
| **Country** | Shows the country the prompt runs from (fixed per prompt). |
| **Status** | Marks the prompt as Active/Inactive (Active prompts are scheduled). |
***
## Visibility Score chart
The Visibility Score chart shows how often your brand appears for this prompt within the selected time range.
* **Visibility Score** = percentage of prompt runs where your brand is present in the AI answer.
* Use the **Competitors** toggle to overlay competitor lines on the chart for the same prompt.
If you’re debugging why results changed, start here. The chart tells you *when* visibility shifted; executions and citations tell you *why*.
***
## Competitors table
The Competitors panel summarizes how brands performed for this prompt.
Columns:
* **Position** — average rank/placement for each brand when it appears (lower is better)
* **Visibility** — percentage of runs where the brand appears for this prompt
This table is the quickest way to see whether you’re losing because:
* you appear less often (Visibility problem), or
* you appear lower than others (Position problem)
***
## Executions
Executions is a run-by-run list of AI answers for this prompt.
Each row represents one execution (one platform, one country, one date).
Columns:
* **Execution date** — when the run happened
* **Response** — preview of the AI answer
* **Position** — your brand’s position in the answer (when detected)
* **Mentions** — brands detected in the answer (icons), with a count of total brands found
* **Mentioned** — whether your brand was mentioned (**Yes/No**)
Use the table to spot patterns like:
* a platform returning **No response**
* a platform consistently placing competitors above you
* runs where your brand is missing even though citations exist
### Execution Details
Click an execution row to open **Execution Details**.
Execution Details shows the full user-facing answer exactly as captured for that run, along with:
* **Status** (e.g., Succeeded)
* **Platform**
* **Country**
This is the source of truth when you need to verify what the model actually returned.
***
## Citations
Citations shows the sources AI platforms relied on to answer this prompt.
Each row is a cited URL with aggregated usage in the selected time range.
Columns:
* **URL** — the referenced page
* **Used** — how many times the URL appeared as a source for this prompt
* **Platforms** — which AI platforms cited it
* **Type** — classification of the source (e.g., Publisher)
* **Mentions** — brands detected in answers that cited this URL
* **Mentioned** — whether your brand was mentioned in those answers (**Yes/No**)
Why this matters:
* If reputable publishers are cited and you’re not mentioned, you likely have a **content / positioning gap**.
* If competitor-owned pages dominate citations, you likely have a **coverage gap** (your content isn’t the default reference).
* If your own domain is cited but your brand isn’t mentioned, you may have a **credit gap** (your content is useful, but your brand identity isn’t reinforced in the page).

# Prompts
Source: https://docs.nobori.ai/prompts
Create clusters and prompts, track visibility and position, and manage active, suggested, and inactive prompts across countries and AI platforms.
The Prompts section is where you define what Nobori.ai measures.
You manage two things:
* **Clusters** — your core offerings (topics)
* **Prompts** — buyer-style questions AI users ask
This page is also where you monitor **Visibility** and **Position** for each cluster and prompt.
***
## Filters
Use the top-right filters to scope results.
| Filter | What it changes |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **All countries** | Filters results to specific prompt countries. |

| **Time range** | Controls the reporting window (e.g., last 7 days, last 30 days, last 3 months). |
Filters apply to cluster rollups and prompt-level metrics.
***
## Concepts
### Cluster
A **cluster** is your brand’s core service or product expressed as a main keyword.\
It groups related buyer prompts around the same commercial offering.
Clusters let you track performance at a topic level instead of only prompt-by-prompt.
### Prompt
A **prompt** is a real user question you want to monitor across AI platforms.\
Prompts are executed on a schedule and produce visibility data over time.
***
## Cluster list
The left panel lists:
* **All Clusters** — combined view across every cluster
* Individual clusters — topic-specific views
Each cluster shows roll-up metrics based on the prompts inside it:
* **Visibility** — percentage of prompts where your brand appears
* **Position** — average ranking position when your brand appears (lower is better)
***
## Prompt tabs
Prompts are organized into three states:
### Active
Active prompts are included in scheduled runs.
Each prompt row includes:
* **Prompt** — the tracked question
* **Position** — average ranking position for your brand
* **Visibility** — percentage of runs where your brand appears
* **Country** — where the prompt is executed from
* **Created** — when the prompt was added
### Suggested
Suggested prompts are recommendations generated from your current setup.
You can:
* **Activate** to start tracking
* **Reject** to remove irrelevant prompts
### Inactive
Inactive prompts are excluded from scheduled runs.
Use Inactive to:
* pause prompts without losing context
* keep your list clean while retaining historical performance
If you **delete** a prompt, its stored data is removed.
***
## Add a cluster
Use **Add Cluster** to create a topic grouping.
You’ll provide:
* **Name** (up to 60 characters)
* **Country** (where prompts in this cluster will run from)
***
## Add a prompt
Use **Add Prompt** to create a tracked buyer query.
You’ll provide:
* **Prompt text** (up to 200 characters)
* **Country** (where the prompt runs from)
* **Cluster** (optional)
* If a cluster is selected, the prompt is assigned to it
* If you’re in the All Clusters view, prompts may be added to **No Cluster**
Tags are shown as **coming soon**.
***
## Bulk actions
You can update multiple prompts at once.
Select prompts using the checkboxes, then use the bulk action bar to:
* **Assign Cluster** — move selected prompts into a cluster
* **Deactivate** — stop running selected prompts (moves them to Inactive)
Bulk actions affect only the selected prompts.
***
## Search and export
Use:
* **Search** to find specific prompts
* **Export** to download prompt-level data for reporting or analysis

Get your first AI visibility data in minutes — onboard, review prompt runs, and generate actions to get cited.
Nobori.ai helps you measure and improve how your brand shows up in AI answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and more) — based on **real prompt runs** and the **sources** models cite.
This guide shows the typical workflow:
**Onboard → Track → Measure → Act**.
***
## 2-minute overview
1. **Complete onboarding**\
Add your **Brand**, **Website**, **Primary country**, and **Current focus** → accept or edit suggested **clusters** and **prompts**.
2. **Wait for your first runs**\
Open **Dashboard** and wait until your first prompt executions finish.
3. **Add competitors**\
Add a few competitors so you can benchmark visibility and position.
4. **Review prompt results**\
Go to **Prompts** → open **Prompt Details** → review **Executions** and **Citations**.
5. **Boost the clusters you care about**\
In **Prompts**, click **Boost** for a cluster to generate actionable tasks.
6. **Execute tasks in Get Cited**\
Work through **Cluster Actions** (outreach/community/placements) and **Foundation** (site baseline audit).
If you want the fastest “aha moment”: complete onboarding → open Dashboard → open any Prompt Details → check which sources were cited.
***
## Step-by-step
During onboarding you set the tracking baseline:
You provide
* Brand — the name we look for in AI answers
* Website — used to detect when your pages are cited
* Primary country — where prompts run from by default
* Current focus — extra context that improves suggested clusters and prompts
Then you confirm your tracking scope
* Clusters — the commercial topics you want to win (e.g., “Custom Software Development”)
* Prompts — buyer questions inside each cluster (the inputs we run)
Clusters and prompts can be edited later in Prompts.
After onboarding, you land on Dashboard.
Your first prompt runs may take a bit — once they complete, you’ll start seeing:
* Visibility Score — % of prompts where your brand appears in AI-generated answers
* Competitors table — rank + visibility (once competitors are added)
* Cited Domains — domains AI relied on to answer your prompts
Tip: use the top filters (Platforms, Time range, Country) to narrow what you’re viewing.
Go to Competitors and add a few brands buyers compare you with.
Competitors unlock:
* visibility benchmarking (who appears more often)
* average position comparisons
* faster prioritization (which clusters/prompt types you’re losing)
You’ll also see competitor lines/toggles in places like Dashboard and Prompt Details.
Go to Prompts to manage clusters and analyze performance.
What you’ll see
* Tabs: Active, Suggested, Inactive
* Cluster-level Visibility and Position (based on prompts inside the cluster)
* Prompt table columns: Position, Visibility, Country, Created
Click any prompt to open Prompt Details:
* Visibility chart (with competitor toggle)
* Executions — full AI responses per run (status, platform, and whether you were mentioned)
* Citations — pages/domains used as sources (what AI relied on)
This is where you validate:
Do models mention you? And which sources are shaping the answers?
Boost is how you turn tracking data into a concrete plan.
From Prompts, choose a cluster and click Boost.
We analyze what AI systems cite for your selected buyer-intent prompts and generate tasks to increase your chance of being:
* mentioned in answers
* cited via trusted third-party sources
Boost is most useful on prompts that look like:
* “Best \[category] tools / vendors”
* “Shortlist providers for \[use case]”
* “Compare options for \[requirements]”
* “Which solution should we choose for \[scenario]”
Nobori.ai gives you two action areas in Get Cited:
1) Foundation (GEO Audit)
Baseline checks that affect whether AI systems can crawl and trust your site.
* Robots.txt, sitemap, crawlability checks
* If something blocks retrieval, we create tasks to fix it
2) Cluster Actions (Boost actions)
A board of tasks based on what AI cites today for your boosted prompts.
* Outreach (get added to existing listicles/directories)
* Community (helpful replies on threads that can rank)
* Guest posts / placements (when provided by your placements workflow)
Use the board columns to track progress:
To do → In Progress → Completed (or Dismissed if not relevant).

## What to do first
If you’re not sure where to start, do this order:
1. Pick one cluster you care about most
2. Open Prompt Details for its top prompts
3. Go back to Prompts and Boost that cluster
4. Work tasks from High priority / Medium effort first
5. Re-check Dashboard and Citations after new pages get indexed

# Sidebar Navigation
Source: https://docs.nobori.ai/sidebar-navigation
What each section in Nobori.ai does — Track, Measure, Act, and Workspace — plus how global filters affect your views.
Nobori.ai is organized as **Track → Measure → Act**, with workspace settings and billing separated under **Workspace**.
Many pages share the same top-bar controls (like **Platforms** and **Date range**), so you can quickly scope what you’re looking at.
## Global filters
These appear in the top bar on most analytics pages.
* **Platforms** — choose where to measure visibility (e.g., ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity).
* **Date range** — common presets like *Last 7 days / Last 30 days / Last 3 months*.
* **Country** — shown on Prompt-related views when results depend on location (because prompts run from a selected country).
* **Notifications** — currently a placeholder (coming soon).
Not every page has every filter. Prompts and Prompt Details are the most country-dependent views.
